INCI stands for International Nomenclature of Cosmetic Ingredients, and makes up the list of ingredients commonly found on a product label.
What's a Trade Material?
A trade material, or trade name, refers to the brand name of an ingredient. For example, peanut butter is to INCI as Jiff and Skippy are to trade names. Vetting to the source requires understanding which peanut butter you're using and what practices and certificates are tied to the specific peanut butter supplier.
