How do I complete attestations for Target Zero?

To submit your products for Target Zero verification, you’ll go through an attestation process for Target Zero’s six pillars.

The purpose is to confirm for Target that you meet and stand behind your product claims. To qualify for Target Zero, you do not need to answer for all claims — just the claims you want.

There are two ways to go through the attestation process. Use the first method if you’re attesting for the majority of your SKUs to Target Zero. If you’ll only be attesting for a few SKUs, please scroll for a different workflow that may better fit your needs.

If you will be attesting for the majority of your SKUs:

1. In the left-hand navigation bar, click “Pillars”. The six Target Zero pillars will pop up.

2. Choose a Pillar you’d like to attest for and click “Review.”

3. The requirements for each claim are grouped into subsections within each Pillar. For example, to make a “Reusable Product” claim for your SKUs, you’ll attest for each of the two Reusable subsections. For the first subsection, click “Review.”

4. Under the first requirement in a subsection, click “Attest for SKUs.”

5. For any SKU you would like to make the product claim for, click “Attest.” In the box that pops up, fill out all fields and click “Attest.”

6. Repeat this process for the other subsection within the Pillar you’re attesting to. You must attest to both requirement subsections to be eligible for that claim.

7. Repeat this process until you’ve attested to all of the claims for all of the SKUs you’d like to qualify for. For pillars where you are attesting “yes”, you will be asked for information and documentation, so please budget enough time to complete the attestation process.

If you’re only submitting a portion of your SKUs:

1. In the left-hand navigation bar, click “Eligibility” and then click “Review.”

2. You’ll see a list of your SKUs and how they stack up for each Target pillar. To work on attestations for one of the SKUs, click “Review.” You may need to scroll right to see the “Review” button.

3. Choose a Pillar you’d like to attest for. If you’d like, use the filter feature to only see the requirements for the Pillar you’re interested in. For the first Requirement associated with that Pillar, click “Attest.”

4. In the pop-out window, click fill out all fields and click “Attest.” Repeat for the other Requirement associated with that Pillar and any additional Pillars you’d like to qualify for.

5. Repeat this process for any other SKUs you’d like to submit to Target Zero.
